First and foremost, I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year - albeit somewhat belatedly since as I type this it's already January 10th! I can't thank you enough for your continued support and interest in my reviews/inane witterings. Even throughout 2016 with my highly inconsistent upload pattern I was continually amazed (and totally humbled) by the hit-rates and usage figures for the site. My sincere gratitude to you all for that.
2016 certainly wasn't my strongest in terms of the quantity and quality of content that I uploaded onto the McXal Tape Review archive. As much I continue to love professional wrestling, sometimes life really does get in the way. My daughter was born in late 2015 meaning I spent much of the last year with parental responsibilities for an infant. I absolutely adore her and am having a blast with parenthood - but it sure as hell gets in the way of finding some free time to watch and write about adults jumping around in spandex! My job role also significantly changed and expanded in February, becoming a lot more time-consuming, life-encompassing and generally pressurised in the process. I loved 2016, but so many sweeping changes definitely meant McXal's Reviews got pushed down my list of priorities.
However, in 2017 my plan is to put a little more focus onto this site. I can't promise I'll suddenly rapidly expand to cover masses more promotions, so my apologies to those that have asked for more PWG, more Evolve or more NJPW. I'm sure random events will pop up here and there, but certainly for the first half of 2017 my focus is to work through the significant backlog I have on Ring Of Honor - plus continuing to enjoy my retro SHIMMER and WWE reviews on the side. To that end, starting today (10/01/2017) Tuesdays will become UPLOAD DAY. That means every Tuesday I'll be uploading new reviews! I'm working on a couple of other projects - including potentially finding some way to answer the requests I get for podcast/Youtube versions of my reviews rather than having big walls of text to read - but for now those are for much later in the year.
Thanks for reading, thanks for your continued support...and see you back here next Tuesday!
