ROH on Sinclair - Episode 466 - 21st August 2020

This week we dip our toes back into ROH's Women Of Honor division for the first time in months. The episode is dedicated to The Allure, who are (along with Sumie) all that is left of ROH's 2018/19 Women Of Honor division.

Mandy Leon welcomes us to the show, and talks about starting her training in the ROH school in 2013. She recalls her Future Of Honor debut in 2014 and then getting to play an integral role in the new Women Of Honor division - picking out her No DQ Match with Taeler Hendrix and her 2/3 Falls Match with Hania The Huntress as early highlights. Both of those would have been way better matches to include on this show than the one they went with (I presume Taeler's acrimonious departure from ROH precludes her footage too...)

A TV edit of Mandy Leon vs Jenny Rose from Global Wars 2017: Buffalo is shown

Mandy calls G1 Supercard one of her favourite moments of her career, the night when 'good girl went bad' as she joined up with the Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) to form The Allure.

Angelina Love takes over hosting and talks about appearing as one of Jimmy Rave's foot-stools in The Embassy back in 2004, but calls G1 Supercard her 'debut' and thinks The Allure have been the focal point of women's wrestling in ROH ever since.

A TV edit of Angelina Love vs Sumie Sakai from Saturday Night At Center Stage 2019 is shown

Mandy and Angelina chat together via Zoom, and agree that everyone in ROH has been hugely jealous of their dominance. They pick a tag match with two of their biggest rivals - Sumie Sakai and Jenny Rose - as one of their favourirtes.

Apparently nobody told the production guys to clip the ending sequence of that last match, which is Maria Manic coming out and intimidating The Allure. Mandy and Angelina gloat about their win clearly unaware that viewers just watched Love running in fear from the Maneater. They can't wait to get out of quarantine so they can continue to be the dominant force in the Women Of Honor division.

Tape Rating - N/A - This episode had a lot going against it. The quality of The Allure's matches hasn't been great, but then again the calibre of opponent they've had to work with hasn't been particularly high either. Their biggest rivalry has been with Kelly Klein, but since she acrimoniously parted ways with ROH they understandably wanted minimise her on-screen presence on the episode limiting even further the choice of matches available. Against that back drop it was an ok episode. Not the best 'pandemic profile special' by far, but certainly not the worst either.
