ROH on Sinclair - Episode 462 - 24th July 2020

It seems odd that it has taken this long to get to a Jonathan Gresham profile episode. Even before the pandemic he was right at the top of the card as Tag Champions alongside Jay Lethal, was an integral part of the ROH Dojo/Future Of Honor system and was positioned for a vastly expanded role in 2020 with the return of the Pure Title on the horizon as well. We do now finally hear from The Octopus...

He is fully suited, and is much happier now gyms have reopened in his area. The pandemic has given him more time to spend with his fiance (Jordynne Grace) and his pets, but he is happy to be back on television to take us through some of his favourite ROH matches.

Gresham talks about his extensive history with Jay Lethal. He says he felt he needed to beat Lethal before he could truly believe he 'belonged' in ROH, making this next match one of his very favourites.

His final selection comes from Final Battle Fallout. Gresham says he is the best 'pure professional wrestler' in the world, and proved it in this next match

Gresham ends with a message that 'The Foundation is growing', and spreading its message all over the world

Tape Rating - N/A - A functional, if limited profile piece on Gresham. He had some really great matches before 2019, so its a shame that all ROH decided to spotlight was some of his most recent classics. And whilst he was effective as a statesmanlike host, Gresham talking doesn't necessarily make for the most exciting television. Any chance to watch that Gresham/Lethal DBD17 is match again is welcome though - it is a real classic.
