ROH on Sinclair - Episode 456 - 12th June 2020

I enjoyed the Brody King spotlight last week as it gave us a glimpse at the man behind the balaclava and tattoos. This week could be another fun profile piece as 'Last Real Man' Silas Young is given his chance to host. He goes back a LONG way in ROH so there could be a lot of ground to cover...

Silas Young has spent doing quarantine doing 'Real Man' things of course - like home improvements, drinking, smoking and barbecuing. A Josh Woods promo is inserted here, where we see him in an empty gym leaving a wistful voicemail for Silas (who isn't returning his calls)...

Highlights of Silas winning a Last Man Standing Match against Jay Lethal at Death Before Dishonor 15 is shown. He gloats at beating ROH's 'golden boy'. Josh Woods calls again, wanting to know if Silas will be talking about 2G1T on the show...

A TV edit of Kenny King vs Silas Young in a Last Man Standing Match for the ROH TV Title from Supercard Of Honor 12 is shown.

Josh Woods calls again, and Silas agrees that Woods is perhaps his best tag partner and admits that 2G1T is probably his best chance to get back in the hunt for Ring Of Honor championship gold. To appease Josh he agrees to show a 2G1T match on his episode and hand-picks the next match because it's the one that Josh made him 'the most proud in'...

A TV edit of 2 Guys 1 Tag vs the Briscoe Brothers from Final Battle Fallout is shown.

Tape Rating - N/A - One of the better pandemic profile episodes. Silas has always been so strong in how he delivers his character and did a great job with his skits and filler pieces here. They found a unique way to continue developing the 2G1T odd-couple chemistry even whilst the pandemic keeps them apart and it was nice to see the 2G1T/Briscoes tag on TV again because it really is good. Throw this alongside the profile spotlight episodes with the Briscoes, Flip Gordon and Dalton Castle as the best shows in this format so far.
