ROH on Sinclair - Episode 454 - 29th May 2020

After last week when we checked out Dragon Lee's self-chosen Ring Of Honor highlights, LFI continue their take-over of the TV show this week as his brother, Rush, hosts. He is the reigning ROH World Champion (winning the belt at the final show before the pandemic) and this week will take us through some of his favourite matches...

Rush skips over his 2019 undefeated streak and jumps in with winning the World Title in Las Vegas. He calls the bout with Taven one of the most painful of his career and credits the support of his family at ringside for helping him to overcome and 'annihilate' Taven.

A TV edit of Matt Taven vs Rush for the ROH World Title from Death Before Dishonor 17 is shown.

A TV edit of Rush vs Jeff Cobb for the ROH World Title from Honor United 2019 Night 3 is shown.

The show ends with a recap of Rush losing the World Title to PCO, before gaining it back in the final ROH live show of 2020. He calls the rest of the ROH roster 'dogs', and vows that when the doors are thrown open from the lockdown he, like so many others, is ensuring he will be more dangerous than ever

Tape Rating - N/A - Like Dragon Lee, Rush isn't a necessarily the most comfortable English speaker on the roster (although I do really like how he delivers his promos) so by necessity his self-shot segments are brief and perfunctory rather than worth going out of your way to see. If you hadn't seen them before, Rush/Taven and Rush/Cobb are two of the best matches from his ROH career so far so are worth checking out if you hadn't already seen them (albeit I'd go back and watch them in full rather than the TV edit versions here).
