ROH on Sinclair - Episode 451 - 8th May 2020

This week we are promised a 'villainous spotlight episode', highlighting the ROH career of 'The Villain' Marty Scurll. At the time this was broadcast Scurll was still, in effect, the lead creative on ROH - a month before the Speaking Out allegations/revelations regarding him would be publicised.

For the first time we're using footage the wrestlers have shot themselves on home recording devices in their own houses during quarantine. He says he is filming this on his iPhone but that the company still has a duty to entertain people in these unprecedented times. He dedicates the show to himself and wants to take the viewer on a brief journey through his ROH career to date. He puts over his match with Will Ospreay during the Reach For The Sky Tour in 2016 (his debut weekend), then calls his match with Okada at All In one of his favourite matches of his entire life.

A TV edit of Marty Scurll vs Kazuchika Okada from All In is shown.

Even though he didn't beat Okada, he still thought it was a 5* match, and felt he proved he could hang with the best heavyweight wrestlers in the world (which opened lots of doors for him).

We then watch Marty put together some flat-pack furniture in his new house, then hang out with his dog.

A TV edit of Marty Scurll vs Bandido from Saturday Night At Center Stage 2019 is shown

Tape Rating - N/A - Once again, from an in-ring perspective this was a fun hour of television. Bandido/Marty was a lot of fun, whilst Scurll/Okada is incredibly under-rated (and always blamed for the Bucks only getting ten minutes to main event their own PPV). Scurll himself was pretty dreadful as a host - looking completely uncomfortable in what was a totally alien situation for him (hosting a TV show on his iPhone).
